Hey guys, what’s up? Well, tough times here, to be honest. Life has it‘s ups and downs, and it’s the second one for me now.
On the 12th February I had a bad crash and a day later I had to undergo a surgery in Velencia. Diagnosis? Broken metatarsal bones resulting in an operation, screws, wires, scars and a hell of a pain. Now I’d love to thank to Lance Coury and his father, who have helped me a lot with everything and I really appreciate it.
So what happened next? In the morning of the 22nd February I’ve been released from hospital and flew back home on the same day. Writhing in pain, I went to see a top Czech doctor Hospodar who told me my leg didn’t look good at all and that I even had an infection in it. So I had to stay at the hospital again and start the procedure.
A drip feed, antibiotics, injections, pills, all over and over again. No fun, to be honest - actually, really boring and painful. On the other hand I was lucky I had a lot of people visiting me – my family, girlfriend, friends, so the time went by quickly and on the 5th March I was finally released home. It still hurts, but it’s much better now though.
All I have to do now is wait (which I hope is gonna be soon), then start rehabilitating and finally, get back on my bike! Oh man, I’m so looking forward to being back again!
I want to say thanks to all the doctors and nurses in the hospitals in the U.S. and the Czech Republic, to my family, my girlfriend and my mates who have come to visit me. I appreciate it!
Take care all of you, and be safe!
Cheers,
Pilník
