Martin Schenk - Backflip
|
This year the track in the Schwarzlhalle was really tough and the riders had to give their best. It had five ramps, the biggest with a 26 Meter gap. And for the first time ever a Race and Style cours was integrated in the track. In the qualification local hero Martin Schenk started with three backflips. German Hannes Ackermann had to end his run after problems with his bike. Freddy Peters from Berlin did a solid run and came on 9th position. Gilles Dejong crashed hard into the landing hill. Fortunately he got no injury. Fabian Bauersachs premiered with a Superflip, but missed the final on 8th place. Even Fredrik Johansson did not make it into the final this time. |
Libor Podmol
This was up for Massimo Bianconcini, Brody Wilson, Libor Podmol, Brice Izzo, Jose Miralles und Remi Bizouard. After the qualifying the Race and Style-contest started. Two riders fought with Speed and Tricks against each other. Fredrik Johansson won this contest. Highest-Air went to Gilles Dejong with 6,50 Meters.
Jose Miralles
First rider in the final was Massimo Bianconcini, who did massive Whips and flip combos, which put him on 5th position. Brice Izzo crashed at his 2nd trick and come only on 6th place. Brody Wilson impressed with a firework of tricks and flipcombos and put himself onto the podium.
Remi Bizouard
But today Vice World champion Libor Podmol could not beat Wilson. He had problems with his bike and ended up 4th. Respect for Jose Miralles, who had to fix a new bike after the Race and Style-contest. His KTM broke while racing and within 15 minutes he prepared the new one. With the other bike he did a good run, but was not able to win this day. Remi Bizouard took the victory with flip firework ahead of Brody Wilson.
The winners - Miralles 2nd - Bizouard 1st - and Wilson 3rd
After the 3rd contests of the FIM Freestyle MX World Championship Spain’s Jose Miralles leads with 54 points ahead of both French riders Remi Bizouard (45 points) and Brice Izzo (42 Points). Next points will be given tomorrow on the 2nd day of the NIGHT of the JUMPs in Graz.

Full house for the 4th contest of the FIM Freestyle MX World Championships in Graz. 6.000 spectators saw the fight of 11 riders in the qualification. Gilles Dejong could not start after a crash in his training round. But what the crowd saw in the Schwarzlhalle must have been the hardest contest ever on European ground. Remi Bizouard won the most packing final ahead of Libor Podmol, who presented with a Nac Underflip a never trained trick. Third went to Brody Wilson who amazed with triple combos to No-Hand-Landings.
Fab Bauersachs - Superflip

Even in the qualification the riders gave everything to make it into the final. That succeeded Massimo Bianconcini, Brice Izzo, Jose Miralles, Libor Podmol, Brody Wilson and Remi Bizouard.
Brice Izzo
With the Race and Style and the Highest Air Contest the crowd was fired up for the final. Jose Miralles won the Race and Style ahead of Gilles Dejong. Highest Air went to Libor Podmol.
Brody Wilson
Then everything was set for the final and the spectators were stocked. What kind of Freestyle battle the riders presented can only figured out with Miralles only reaching 4th place with three combos to No-Hand-Landing, Superflip and Tsunami Flip and Brice Izzo on 5th position with Shaolin Flip and Superman Seatgrab Flip. With 1-Hand Underflip and Nac Underflip Libor Podmol did two totally new tricks next to his Switchblade and Cliffhanger Flip. Those two did Remi Bizouard as well, but with his Ruler Flip in the double up he came on top only one point ahead of Podmol.
Libor Podmol
In the overall ranking of the FIM Freestyle MX World Championship Jose Miralles still leads. But with both winnings on this weekend Remi Bizouard came close only three points behind. Third now is Brody Wilson. Next rounds of the World Championships will come up on next weekend at the NIGHT of the JUMPs in Basel/Switzerland.
