A year ago to have had a rider landing a 360 in his run and only finish 6th would be unthinkable, yet tonight in the Vienna Stadthalle, it was a reality. Every one of the 6 riders in the final had a mix of huge rotation tricks traditional FMX tricks – making for a showcase of cutting-edge riding.
Up front it was a showdown between Mat Rebeaud (Switz), Mike Mason (US), Andre Villa (Nor) and Adam Jones (US), all with massive, unique tricks - most notably Jones’ Cordova Backflip, which completely defies logic.

In the end Rebeaud edged ahead of Jones, with Villa third and Mason fourth. Fifth in the final was Ronnie Renner (US) who had big-gap backflip combos to add to his already popular routine, including his trademark whip.
Sixth was Fred Johansson (Swe), who made a few critical mistakes at the end of his run, dropping him down the order despite his awesome 360 over the super kicker.

Yesterday’s first round contest left a lot of riders eager to set the record straight - none more so than the American duo of Adam Jones and Mike Mason. Both put together flawless rides, with massive extension, smooth landings and energy on the course. The final decider was Jones’ unbelievable Cordova backflip.
Third place went to yesterday’s winner Mat Rebeaud (Switz), who made some uncharacteristic mistakes mid-run and did well to still place on the podium. Fourth was Swedish style-master Fredd Johansson, who unleashed his version of the 360 this weekend to the amazement of the crowds, judges and riders alike.
Fred Johannson rocked the house with a 360!
Fifth in the final was crowd favourite Ronnie Renner (US), who put together some massive tricks, flips, whips and landing combinations. Sixth in the final was Czech youngster Libor Podmol, who edged ahead of more favoured riders like Andre Villa (Nor) and Remi Bizouard (Fra) with his typical gutsy style.
