IFMXF press release | pics by steh.de

Hamburg, 11th November 2006

Adam Jones dominated Round 10 of FIM FMX World Championship.
A super talented field of riders descended upon the ColorLine Arena to continue the battle for the first ever IFMXF FIM World Championship title. 12 riders from seven countries started at the NIGHT of the JUMPs in Hamburg for the 10th contest of the World Championships.

Local heroes Busty Wolter, Fabian Bauersachs, Freddy Peters and Tobi Immler showed different performances in front of their home crowd. Freddy Peters presented for the first time ever a NoFoot Flip. Busty Wolter crashed with a Flintstone to Side-Saddle-Landing. Tobi Immler had a few problems in his run and only Fabian Bauersachs reached the final with his McMetz to NoHand-Landing in the double-up.

Fab Bauersachs

For the qualifications it turned out to be Czech against the USA. Libor Podmol with a Nac Backflip reached second place and Adams Jones with a heelclicker flip cracked the first place position. Mike Mason reached third place and Martin Koren ended up 4th. The Italian Alvaro dal Farra ended up in last place with his first ever Longdistance Flip.

After the Qualification round the German Fabian Bauersachs had an impressive final run and ended up forth. Italian Alvaro dal Farra and Czech Martin Koren had Deadsailors in their runs and ended up as fifth and sixth respectively.

Mike Mason
Mike Mason whippin' it

Mike Mason did much better later than in the qualifiers and reached second, but impressively the audience darling Libor Podmol produced his best final run in 2006 and premiered with a heelclicker flip in the double. With the whole crowd willing him into 2nd place the jury unfortunately awarded him with 3rd place much to the dissatisfaction of the screaming crowd.

First in the qualifyers and second US-Boy Adam Jones once again showed his skills with 1-Handed Flip, Nac Flip and Can Can to Saran Wrap Flip which ultimately gave him first position.

The 10th round of the 2006 FIM IFMXF World Championship was amazing. Now it’s up to the Diverse NIGHT of the JUMPs in Katowicze on 24th and 25th November for the last points to know who is the first FIM FMX World Champion.
