Australia has a bunch of great FMX riders like Blake Williams, Robbie Maddison, Cam Sinclair and many more. And there are also some newcomers we want to introduce you the next days. Today we are talking with Josh Sheehan from Perth. It seems this guy will be soon one of the Top 10 riders in the world. His Tricks – especially the Ruler Flips are awesome.

First of all, tell the guys out there some basics about you - where do you come from, how old are you and what is your mission? Im 23, From a farm near Perth, Western Australia. I want to compete in the big competitions around the world and be successfull in FMX.



Almost every rider has a cool story how he started with MX. Do you also have one? How and when did you start riding MX bikes and what affected you to do FMX? I rode on the farm as a kid then at 17, my friend had his licence and we drove to a local club for a small race. I needed a parent to sign so i got the owner of a nearby store to sign for me. I won the novice class that day and i fell in love. I always loved trying tricks and showing off, so i learnt to flip for fun then entered a local comp. I crashed out but realised i could do what they did so i started practicing after.

Do you have an own FMX compound? I have a landing with 2 ramps and small fun box.

Let’s talk about the Flip... Do you think, that the people hype the Backflip to much and the judges are score them to overpriced? Although they are common nowdays, its still way more dangerous doing flip tricks than most normal tricks. Although variety is a must i think.

What do you think about tricks like the double flip and the frontflip? They are insane and make the sport very interesting!

Do you have planned to try the frontflip or the doubleflip sometime? I have tried the double into a pit. They‘re tricks id love to try but not on top of the list.

What are your plans for the upcoming season and which series and contests you are interested to ride in? To ride uninjured! To ride with the crustys, Get to all the large Australian Comps and try get overseas for some rides.

Do you have another job beside FMX or do you go to school/college?
I only do casual work now, for a friend or for my families farm.

What are you doing in your freetime beside 2-wheelers?
Hopefully wakeboarding in the summer, Beach, cars, sports, friends.

What kind of music do you like?
Depending on the mood, but mostly old rock.

Your last words – do you want to say something to your fans, friends etc? Have goals in life and go for them!
